Pop icon Britney Spears put a new spin on her favorite pastime of spinning around in circles this weekend, this time, spinning around a stripper pole in her latest bizarre Instagram clip.


“Got this pole two days ago,” she captioned the video, depicting her twirling around a shaky pink pole in nothing but a leopard print bikini, matching gloves and a pair of knee-high black boots, Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer” playing in the background. “Last night was my first time on it !!!”



Though Spears’ fans and B-Anon truthers alike revealed in the raunchy clip’s viral moment — “Britney got the gorls TRIGGERED with that stripper pole video,” wrote @nursezaddy — several other lurkers were more concerned than aroused.


“At first it was hilarious but now it's just sad as fuck seeing this and knowing it was probably better for her to stay in the conservatorship,” Redditor u/Djd7585 wrote on r/Celebhub.  


“This. Is like watching a wrecked car limp off into traffic,” observed u/10_Virtues.  “You wanna stop it but just can’t. Poor girl.”


But as others observed, Spears’ penchant for pole dancing isn’t anything new, rendering any outrage slightly moot.


“Ppl get’n mad at Britney Spears doing shit she’s done her whole life just shows y’all treat her just like her abusers,” wrote @girlypoprincess alongside several photos depicting the pop princess twirling around a pole during various live performances. “She can ONLY get on a pole, be half naked and dance if it’s ONLY for other’s entertainment. her doing it for herself is ‘too much.’”



But whether you hate Spears’ routine or are begging her to “Gimme More,” one thing is certain — As a certain ugly-crying YouTuber once said, we should all “leave Britney alone!”
